Sunday School

We hold classes every Sunday where children and youth of all ages hear the Gospel message and receive Christian education.

Beginners Class - Preschool

God's Helpers - K to 2nd grade

Middlers - 3rd to 5th grade

Junior / Senior High - 6th to 12th grade

We begin at 9:30 AM by singing songs of God's glory and praise. Classes begin at 9:45 AM, where children learn about God's love for them and His good will and plan for their lives.

Junior Church

During the Sunday sermon, children ages Preschool through Grade 5 attend Junior Church. Bible stories and lessons are presented in a fun, engaging way that's easy for kids to understand and brings a lasting impression of God's Word and His love.

In addition to Junior Church, we hold Teen Church for Grades 6 through 12. Teen Church offers a comfortable space for youth to discuss the Christian life.

Youth Group

Our church has a thriving youth group! Youth group leaders regularly engage kids in community ministry; we have created care packages for the homeless, made sandwiches to donate to our local city mission, and started our church's community gardens. We have crafts, snacks, singing and more. In the past we have gone hiking, rafting, biking, and caving. We have played games, listened to music, had scavenger hunts and picnics. All in all, we find fun in God and we find God in all that we do.

Kids & Youth

Jesus Christ said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." (Matthew 18:3-5)

Because of this, we take seriously the responsibility of teaching children about Christ's love for them and for others. We have many opportunities for children to participate in the life of the church.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer we put together a fun, lively, educational VBS to get children excited to learn about Jesus. During this time, they have a daily Bible lesson, listen to stories, make crafts, enjoy snacks, and sing songs.

In the past, we have had VBS themes such as God's Superheroes, Fishers of Men, God Created, and The Life of Jesus. VBS is for children ages Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

Church Camp

Located in the beautiful mountains of Rockwood, PA, Camp Laurelview is our local church camp for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pennsylvania. Camps run throughout the summer for children and youth of all ages.

Our church sponsors camp fees for kids and teens of our congregation to attend camp. We also have a church van that can help transport youth to and from camp.

Acolytes & Diaconate

Children have the opportunity to participate in our morning worship service. Acolytes light the candles in the sanctuary before the service and put them out afterwards, representing the coming of Christ's light into our presence and His light leading us out into the world.

Junior Diaconate is comprised of youth who have become members of the church by baptism (usually at

age 12). They help prepare and serve Communion. In this way, children see that they are just as much a part of

the Church as adults.
